subject: Early Diagnosis Of Breast Cancer Leads To Successful Treatment [print this page]

American Cancer Society is of the view that breast cancer can be diagnosed earlier with the help of routine mammogram, clinical examination and self breast examination because all these methods help detecting the abnormalities at initial stage and finding abnormalities at initial stage greatly reduces the risk to encounter serious health complications even death.

New advancements in the science and technology has introduced many treatment options, but no one can help in case of late diagnosis so everyone should try to catch it as it takes place so that to control it becomes easier and successful because this is a disease in which cells grow in an abnormal way and the growth is so rapid that does not take much time to spread to other parts of the body.

Women breasts are made up of different tissues such as fatty, connective and glandular tissues and this part of the body is designed naturally to perform different functions like breasts play a vital role to make a woman attractive, gives pleasure to the partner in sexual relations and used for breastfeeding as well. There are lobes and ducts in the breasts and cancer can develop in any part of the breast such as it can develop in the lobes as well as in the ducts.

Types of Breast Cancer

There are different ways to categorize breast cancer such as it can be divided into different categories according to the part where it originates and the second way is to see how much it has spread like

1.Invasive breast cancer

2.Non-invasive breast cancer

Invasive breast cancer

Invasive breast cancer is the one that spreads to other parts of the body from the place of origin most of the times it reaches to the lymph nodes and other parts of the body as well some of the examples of invasive cancer are

1.Invasive Ductal Carcinoma(IDC)

2.Invasive Lobular Carcinoma

Non-Invasive Breast Cancer

Non-invasive breast cancer does not spread to other parts of the boy and remains within the place of origin like if it takes place in ducts it does not spread to other parts of the body and similarly it stays within the lobes if it develops in the lobes. It is known as carcinoma in situ as well which means in the same place that indicates cancer did not spread to other parts of the body. Examples of non-invasive breast cancer are given below

1.Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS)

2.Lobular Carcinoma In Situ(LCIS)

All types of breast cancer cause some symptoms, however symptoms appear at later stage but if a woman stays in contact with breasts she can notice the symptoms as they take place that can be of great assistance for early detection of cancer and catching cancer earlier means successful treatment and short recovery time with higher survival chances so women should perform regular self examination to enlighten breast awareness that is of core importance for women of all ages.
