There is possibility that GM will be paying other the dealers in the network for doing all the work. This might be one solution, but might be very impractical depending on proximity of the other dealerships of GM. Dealers hate work of warranty as the manufacturers mostly pay up flat pre-negotiated rates which are less as compared to the what the dealership make through private customers.
One more reason for not purchasing a pre-owned certified Pontiac cheap cars is that there isn"t any guarantee that GM will honor the warranties after it enters bankruptcy (& this is looking very likely). Bankruptcy cancels the agreements amidst company & consumer and you could be in trouble here.

Pontiac GTO was nicknamed appropriately as the Goat. Pontiac Aztek is punch line for endless jokes.
Regarding, Pontiac one could stomach in only one thing in the last decade - Grand Prix. It was throwback while the American sedans came with decent performance & distinctive looks.
