A family holiday in Devon is a guaranteed success as the destination has many activities and attractions on offer. There are so many experiences for a family to enjoy together. Fathers need not panic though that they will be forced to indulge in only childish activities, as there is golf in Devon. With some amazing courses on offer many happy hours can be spend swinging away. Opt to stay at a hotel that has access to golf facilities as well as all the other attractions Devon has.

The Paignton Zoo has to be visited for the kids to enjoy a wonderful day with the animals. It is one the top zoos in Britain and it has some of the rarest creatures. Kids can marvel at the giraffes, tigers, gorillas and lions along with rhinos. There is an interactive Discovery Centre as well. As the zoo is a registered charity a day there with the family means you will be helping towards scientific research and supporting educational endeavours. For more fun with animals take the kids to the World of Country Life where they can walk amongst the animals. They can feed the animals for a unique experience. For the very young kids there is a play area with slides and trampolines and a soft bouncy castle so they can burn of energy.

For another one of a kind experience, take the children to the Quince Honey Farm which has been producing honey since 1949. The little ones can see how the honey is produced first hand and of course sample some of the honey! You can buy some honey from the shop to take home.

To get closer to nature visit the Canonteign Falls. It is the highest waterfall in England. You can enjoy the view of Teign Valley by climbing up the original Victorian steps and going across the bridges to Buzzards View. The area has a play area and a cafe with local home cooked food. A visit to the Watermouth Castle takes you back in time and gives a glimpse into ancient Victorian life. Kents Cavern is one of Europes top Neanderthal Ice Age caves.

Of course no trip to Devon would be complete with some time spent at the beach. There are miles of amazing beaches, safe for swimming. It provides hours of family fun as the day is spent lazing on the beach. Most of the beaches have food stalls and cafes nearby, so there is really no need to leave at all!
