External hemorrhoids could be the most uncomfortable condition to bear. The overlying skin becomes irritated. It may also erode. Creams and ointments are available. However, always seek for medical consultation before applying them. Look for creams or ointments which contain anesthetic, vasoconstrictors, astringents and corticosteroids. These help to shrink the blood vessel. Please bear this in mind, these medication is not suitable for people with high blood pressure and heart problem.

3. Best treatment for external hemorrhoids

In order to make sure that the problem does not come back to haunt you again. You must address the underlying problem. Please make sure that you are practising a healthy lifestyle with good diet and plenty of exercises.

Take more fiber or alternatively you could take fiber supplement such as Citrucel, Fiber Con or Metamucil. Fiber supplements could help in decreasing bleeding, enlargement and inflammation of hemorrhoids. High fiber floods such as broccoli, wheat, fresh fruit, beans, oat bran should be part of your diet as well. Couple with adequate fluids, fiber could soften the stools and make them easier to pass.

Wear loose cotton underwear. Try lifting your feet when you are on the toilet so that you are more in the "squatting position".

Observe the ingredients of the soaps you are using. Avoid using soaps which contain irritating dyes and perfumes.
