Funny Things Kids Get Stuck In Their Ears

Children have a bad habit of picking up small items and playing with those things. Even if you baby proof your house, and you remove anything small enough to fit in the nose or ear, your child might still find something that you missed. While it might seem scary at the moment, you will find yourself telling the story to friends and family members in the future. Before long, you might even find that your friends and relatives start sharing stories about other funny things that their children got stuck in their nose or ear.

How would you feel if your son or daughter walked into the room with a cotton swab hanging out of their ear? Believe it or not, many people find themselves in this same situation every year. Kids see their parents cleaning their ears with cotton swabs, and the kids think that they can clean their own ears. They push the cotton swab a little too far inside the ear canal and cannot get it out. You might see your child walking around the house with a bottle of ear drops or an ear syringe hanging from one ear because they see their parents doing the same thing. Some kids even get large earrings stuck in their ears because they try to imitate their moms.

Corn is another funny thing that some kids put in their ears. A child hears his parent refer to an ear of corn, and he decides to see if an ear of corn is the same size as his own ear. Other children use individual kernels of corn because they can't tell the difference between the two types of corn. Before you know it, your daughter has several pieces of corn stuck in her ear. Kids will also put other types of food in their ears, including beans. Some kids do it out of curiosity, while others kids put food in their ears because they want to hide the food from their parents.

Clay and packing peanuts are other humorous things that children like to stuff in their ears. If you look closely at a pair of earplugs, you might notice that the plugs feel squishy to the touch. Packing peanuts and clay have a similar texture. Kids can stick a little clay or a packing peanut in their ears because they want to make their own earplugs.

Kids will put almost anything in their ear if it is small enough, especially toys. Board games often come with smaller pieces, including games designed for toddlers and younger children. A child can stuff a card, token or even play money inside his ear. The next time you see your little one with something hanging from her ear, just think about the future story that you have.
