Polish Up Your Cv With Personal Injury Training

When it comes to getting a job in the legal sector (or anywhere else) at the moment, those who succeed in their job search are the ones who take a positive and proactive approach, rather than bemoaning the state of the economy or the lack of jobs on offer. One half of this proactive approach is to keep looking hard and to apply for every suitable opportunity. The other is to take any steps that you can to enhance the value you can offer an employer, and to mark yourself out as the candidate who is most suited to the job.

Whether you're a recent graduate from law school or you've already got years of experience as a lawyer or solicitor, undertaking additional legal training is a wise move for several reasons. Firstly, the very fact that you have undertaken additional training recently demonstrates your commitment to continuous personal development and your drive to prospective employers - admirable qualities to have at any stage of your career.

Then of course there's the direct benefit of having an additional qualification on your CV. As with virtually any job in any sector, the more skills and knowledge you can bring to the table, the more attractive you will be as an employee or colleague.

Why personal injury training?

Personal injury is one of the fastest growing areas of law, and one which more and more legal firms are switching on to, particularly in light of the current economic problems in the UK. Due to the high number of accidents that take place each year on the roads, in workplaces and elsewhere, there is a constant demand for legal professionals who have what it takes to handle these claims effectively.

Undertaking personal injury training can significantly widen your scope for applying for jobs, where firms are specifically looking for someone to handle personal injury claims.

Even if a law firm is not specifically looking for a PI specialist, they are likely to see the wisdom in hiring somebody who already has the necessary skills and qualifications rather than having to send someone for relevant legal training at a later date and at extra expense.

By the same token, even if you have no intention of specialising as a personal injury lawyer in the long-term, undertaking personal injury training can round out your skills nicely, and help portray you as good 'all-rounder' on your CV and in job interviews.

You can never have too much legal training.

If you've already got some experience of working in personal injury, your CV can still benefit from a little additional personal injury training. As it is a relatively new field, personal injury law is changing all the time, so it's a good idea to take action to keep up with the latest developments. As well as increasing your chances of securing a job right now, staying up to date will enable you do your job better in future, and to provide greater client satisfaction.
