Looking After Your Dog

Pets to many humans become a part of their family. Not having a little furry friend running around your home and asking for food would make your household feel incomplete. Having a dog especially can be like having your own baby. Looking after it well and caring for it, you will see it grow into a healthy and happy dog that you could not imagine being without.

Dogs are much more dependant on their owners care than other pets such as cats. They yearn for your attention and need to be looked after to the best of your ability. Just like if you were to have a child you would not love them in the house on their own for a long period of time. This is exactly the same with a dog. Unless you want to come home to an unhappy pet and a messy home you have to be committed when taking on a dog.

Just like we need to do exercises to keep fit, dogs do too. There is nothing more exciting for a pup than to be let outside in the fresh air to run around to their hearts content and sniffing everything in sight. They need walking at least twice a day, most likely morning and night for many people.

As we like to snack and day and fill ourselves up at night with a hearty meal, dogs do too. Giving them the right balance of dry and wet food is imperative at keeping them healthy and looking and feeling their best. You should give them regular dog biscuits throughout the day to keep them feeling satisfied and on a night give them some wet food. This will be like their main meal and last them until the next day. Along with any food a good drink in order, so make sure they have plenty of fresh clean water to keep them hydrated. Food and drink will not only keep hunger at bay but the right choices will help to keep their coat shining and healthy.

Speaking of coats, dogs get dirty. Whether you have taken them to the beach and they dived straight into the sea, or your daily walk has turned into a mud bath because of the rain, there is no doubt they will need a good wash. Bath time if you have a big dog will certainly be an interesting task, expect to get wet! All of this hard work in keeping them happy will all be worth it when they look at you like you are the best thing in their life.
