How To Choose The Right Personal Injury Lawyer

If youve suffered an injury and are looking to make a personal injury compensation claim, it can be a little overwhelming where to start. The first thing to do is to do some research and come up with a list of personal injury solicitors to contact. The next stage is to actually make contact with the solicitors to see what services they can offer and how they will handle your claim.

One very important thing to remember is to dont be afraid to ask questions. If you dont understand something they are saying then simply ask them to explain themselves. If you still feel they are trying to bamboozle you into using their organisation, then maybe you should go elsewhere. The solicitors should be personable, considerate and honest at all times.

Enquire as to the level of experience the solicitors have, particularly in relation to personal injury cases. Are they personal injury specialists and therefore deal with cases such as yours on a day-to-day basis, or do they offer a wide range of legal services that could potentially dilute the amount of attention they spend on cases of this nature?

You should also ask about how your case is going to be managed. Will you work with a dedicated solicitor or be passed around whoever is free at the time? Does the firm have dedicated work injury claim specialists? Will there be someone present in court to assist you? It may seem like a lot to think about, but its important youre fully informed at all times.

Another important aspect to consider is the fees the solicitor will charge. You need to address early how much youre likely to pay, if anything, to the solicitor. Are there contingency fees or are some hourly or is there a charge for each consultation? All this is important to find out when discussing fees. Many also offer a no win no fee service, meaning you wont have to pay out any costs and will receive 100% of the compensation with no deductions.
