subject: 3 Weight Loss Lessons You Can Learn From The Biggest Loser [print this page] Every Tuesday millions of people sit down in front of their TV's to watch The Biggest Loser. In my opinion it is one of the best shows on television these days. It is amazing to watch people who are 500 pounds dwindle down to 200 pounds right before my very eyes.
It's not surprising that people all over the world have become obsessed with this show. I mean let's face it, obesity is a serious problem. Not just here in America but throughout the world. And when people sit at home and watch The Biggest Loser it gives them hope. It motivates and inspires them.
However, there is one big problem. The majority of us don't have the time to workout four or five hours a day. Nor can you afford to work with a personal trainer every week. You just have to remember that The Biggest Loser is one big game. And even though they are put in the ideal situation to lose weight there are some things you can take from the show and apply them to your own life when it comes to losing weight.
Make Losing Weight A Priority
On the show you notice that losing weight is everyone's main priority. Everything else comes second. You too have to make losing weight your number one priority. Don't try to plan losing weight around your life. Instead plan your life around losing weight.
Sit down for an hour at the beginning of each week and plan out your meals. Schedule the times when you will go workout and stick to it. Remember, make this a priority.
Get Moving
In The Biggest Loser house they workout four or five hours a day. Now I am in no way saying that you should workout that long. I realize that you have other things going on in your life that make doing such a thing impossible. However, you do need to get out and do something. Even a walk around the neighborhood will do you a world of good.
If you want to see results quickly you will have to push yourself hard. That's what they do on the show. The push themselves really hard. Yes they complain and cry like big babies sometimes but it all pays off when they get on that scale at the end of the week.
The key is finding something you really enjoy doing. If you like bike riding go bike riding. If you like jogging then go jogging. Each time you go you should time yourself and try to get faster. Do interval training where you will run as fast as you can for 60 seconds and then walk for 2 minutes. This will put your body in fat burning mode and help you burn more calories throughout the day.
Know Your Triggers
If you notice, the show is not just about losing weight but it is also about getting to the root of your problems. Its about healing those issues that are causing you to want to know. A big part of your weight loss success is identifying what triggers you to eat. Is it a bad relationship? Is it work?
Whatever it is you need to identify it so you can deal with it head on. Once you deal with those issues your weight loss journey will become much easier
These are just three very important lessons you can learn from the biggest loser. Make weight loss a priority, get moving and identify the real reasons behind your weight gain. When you do these 3 things you too will be able to lose weight and feel great just like the contestants on The Biggest Loser.
