subject: The Best Gift Ideas For Weddings [print this page]

It is really a tricky one to come up with good gift ideas for weddings since there are so many factors that need to be taken into consideration. Starting off with how well you know the couple: good friends or just distant relatives. Are they a fun-loving couple or do they strictly speak about world politics at the breakfast table? When it comes to other peoples weddings it is better not to steal their thunder with a gift that causes chaos and confusion.

Give Them The Green

It may not seem especially creative to open up your wallet and put a few wrinkly bucks in an envelope, but fact is that most couples will appreciate this more than you could imagine. There is the up-coming honeymoon trip, there is the new house or maybe there is a much longed for baby on the way. Rather than take a long shot and buying them something, that might be creative in your eyes, but in their eyes just seem rather useless- money will be never frowned upon. If you do know the couple well and still want to give them something more personal, try to get creative with the way you hand them over. There are other ways than just handing over a plain white envelope. Let your imagination run wild.

Hot Up Their Honeymoon Suite

Maybe the couple that are getting married are not financially independent and maybe they have a reality and bills to come home to once they return from their honeymoon. And their trip is meant to last at least for a full week so while the hotel they have booked may be beautiful and charming, giving them a honeymoon night in the most luxurious suite you can afford can be the perfect gift for jump-starting their marriage.

A Gift That Stands The Test Of Time

That is always a great one. A bottle of fine scotch that they are not to open until ten years into their happily ever after, and even if they cheat with it, a bottle like that becomes more than just a drinking jug, it is a memory and a piece of interior design. Or, you could opt for buying a piece of interior design to begin with, something that will remind them of that hopefully happy day of their wedding for as long as they live.

Spice Up Their Honeymoon

If you know them well enough to have the inside information of where they are going to spend their honeymoon, you could do some research into the area and find out the best restaurants, the finest culture, the top nightclubs or whatever they might be most interested in, and arrange for some kind of special treat corresponding to their favorite activity.

Maybe a Mariachi-band spreading them with their favorite song as they are enjoying a freshly caught piece of swordfish down on the candle-lit harbor restaurant.

Great gift ideas does not have to be more elaborate than that.
