subject: More Ways To Have A Green Wedding [print this page] Some time ago, we gave some initial thoughts on how to have a "green wedding". Here are some more ideas to try out so that your wedding can be as eco-friendly as possible.
1. Go with a biodegradable fabric for your wedding gown. You don't necessarily have to do with the paper wedding gown, although there are some designers were making some paper wedding gowns, but you can go with natural fibers instead of processed fibers in making your wedding gown. For instance, organic silk, cotton, or even bamboo are preferable choices for a green wedding gown.
2. Make all of the decorations at a wedding out of paper products. Last time we only mention paper flowers, but there's no reason that the centerpiece on every table at the recession could be man out of paper. Many weddings today wrap little favors in paper and close them up with the paper ribbon of some type. The runner leading from the back of the church to the front of the church could be made out of paper as well.
3. Have your wedding and reception in the same place. This will save the environment by not having cars has to start up and waste all that energy and gas driving halfway across town to a different location for reception. Of course, if you're looking to have your wedding in a church, and there's other services that still have to be conducted in that church, this might not be an option. But if you're not tied to having your wedding in a church, or if there are no other services in that church and they have a room large enough to hold all your guests, this might be something to think about.
4. Instead of using electricity to light up your wedding ceremony, why not think of lighting up the room with soy candles? Sure, the cost of enough soy candles to light up the room might not save you any money, but soy burns naturally and doesn't contaminate the environment, and the carbon footprint will have less of an impact than using electricity.
5. Use recycled paper for your wedding invitations and wedding programs. These items have already proven that they can be broken down and used again. It also shows your guests how committed you are to trying to protect the environment.
