Transportation For Families With Kids At Preschool Orchard Road

Orchard Road is walkable, at least allowing plenty of breaks in air-conditioned shopping centers. You can no longer cross the central Orchard/Scotts intersection on foot: instead, take the air-conditioned underground walkway system that links Orchard MRT/Ion Orchard to Wisma Atria, Ngee Ann City and Lucky Plaza (east), to CK Tang/Marriott (north), and to Shaw House and Wheelock Place (west). The MRT stations of Orchard, Somerset, Dhoby Ghaut and City Hall on the North-South Line follow the alignment of Orchard Rd. Change to the North-East Line at Dhoby Ghaut or the East-West Line at City Hall. So families can walk to preschool Orchard Road if they live in the area. However, for families living outside the district, they can opt to take the MRT or other form of public transportation.

There are three major MRT stations situated in the Orchard Road vicinity. They are Orchard, Somerset and Dhoby Ghaut. However, since the opening of the ION Orchard, the entrance of the Orchard entrance has been moved underground below the upcoming mall. There are taxi stands at Forum The Shopping Mall, all hotels, Lucky Plaza, Wisma Atria, Ngee Ann City, The Paragon, The Heeren Shops, Centrepoint Shopping Centre and Plaza Singapura.

Vehicles from Dunearn Road that travel via Scotts Road can also turn left into Orchard Road at the Marriott Hotel junction. Vehicles coming from the opposite direction on Paterson Road can enter Orchard Road by turning right. There are also a number of other roads leading into Orchard Road. Orchard Road is one-way heading south and leads into Bras Basah Road which is also one-way and heading south.

Through the convenience of the wide public transportation system available in Singapore, families with children attending kindergarten Orchard Road will be able to arrive punctually at their destination. This will make every morning of your child at his or her nursery Orchard Road because he or she is not late. Just make sure that you and your child are prepared for the travel. Make sure that your child knows all the safety rules of travelling or commuting to school such as no talking to strangers, etc. And dont leave your child away from your sight. A nametag - which includes your childs name, contact and address - will be helpful in case your child gets lost. Also bring some distractions for the travel in order to prevent your child from getting restless. You can bring small toys or you can come up with simple travel games such as I Spy. Also bring some snacks in case your child gets hungry. Just remember that most public transportation does not allow food or eating inside so be mindful of the rules.
