Elite Model Look is such a competition that provides an ideal platform for supermodels to be discovered. Some of the famous alumni of the competition includes Cindy Crawford, Stephanie Seymour and Gisele Bundchen. The Elite Model Look 2012 was special for one unique reason as the year 2012 was the first time that the competition has considered male models. Earlier, it was open to girls only. This year's Elite Model Look finals were held in Singapore on 10th November at the Hard Rock Coliseum. The show was hosted by Miss Singapore Universe 2007, Jessica Tan. The show came to a satisfying completion after weeks of selection and training, when everyone selected 16-year-old Singaporean Lena Stewen as the winner.

Lena Stewen beat 11 other contestants to bag the title. Now, she will represent Singapore at the most glamorous event of the year, which is the World Final of the Elite Model Look contest. The event will be held in Shanghai in December 2012. Lena Stewen is half-Chinese and half-Finnish. She is 183cm and believes that her best attribute is her height. One interesting fact is that she was the tallest among the 12 finalists. The first runner up was Jenevieve Woon (18 years old) and the second runner up was Eugena Phang (20 years old).

The Finale was a night of glitz and glamour with a T-shaped runway stage. The 12 female and 7 male finalists performed three catwalk appearances on the runway in stylish outfits, which were sponsored by designer Gnossem. The finalists were given grades by judges on the basis of their walk and poise. Apart from the beautiful and charming female contestants, the 7 hot male contestants duly charmed the audience and grabbed the attention of many women in the crowd. Their sculpted bodies made the event steamy. The male category saw an unexpected tie between 2 contestants and both shared the first position as the judges were torn between these two finalists. The winners in the male category were Berik Kazymzhanov (Kazakhstan) and David Hong (Singapore).

It was truly an exciting night that saw both the fashion, as well as, entertainment. The audience was entertained with a high-octane performance by Motiv8, who is the original DJ of the Black-Eyed Peas. The distinguished panel of judges included Ms. Aries Meunier, head of the Model Movement from Elite Model World, Mr. Watson Tan, director of Upfront Models and Ms. Genevieve Jiang, Senior Deputy Editor from Her World magazine, amongst other industry professionals. All the finalists dazzled both the jury and guests with their good looks, catwalk and charming personalities.

Elite Model Look is one of a kind contest that provides the opportunity to young girls (and now boys also) from various countries to become top fashion models, and also, to start a career with the best possible support.
