Obese population is growing by leaps and bounds due to unhealthy lifestyles, and so is the desire to get that size zero. Everybody wants to loose weight. Period. As I write this article I want to loose weight too, though not a lot but just a wee bit. Loosing weight is not rocket science really; its just about consistency and discipline. If you want to sum up your entire weight loss plan, this is how it should look like Step 1 Set a weight loss goal e.g. 10 pounds in 5 weeks. Step 2 Find out the standard calorie requirement for your age, gender and height. Plenty of tools, sites available online to check this. Step 3 Do the math. Plan your diet and Exercise in a way that you are burning 20-30 percent more then your calorie intake. (This is the key formula for loosing weight) Step 4 I dont recommend making diet plans and eating only particular kind of food. Instead make a list of food that you have to completely avoid e.g. chocolates, shakes, cheese burgers, fried stuff etc. Now I know its not easy to turn away from them, but keep saying No every time you feel the temptation, immediately drink water, eat gum or get busy with something. Idea is to cut back on anything thats high on calorie and low on health. Think about how great its going to be when you loose that extra flab. Step 5 Exercise, Yes. You must exercise in one way or the other. Either join a gym, or start a regular jog. Or depending on whats your weight loss goal, act smartly and incorporate exercising in your daily work e.g. Walk or bike to your office; Stop using the elevators and use the stairs always; Do your own gardening; Wash the car; Play a sport. So basically, once you are burning proportionally lot more then what you are eating, you will start to loose those extra pounds. Remember, consistency towards your weight goal is very important; you just cant loose the battle to lethargy and temptation. Some things that might help maintaining the consistency are
1. Get a gym buddy or fitness buddy have one whom you are comfortable with and is fun to be around. 2. Sign up with one of the good weight loss websites which provides you with tools and motivation to keep going, along with many other resources. 3. Join a local support group for weight loss. 4. Announce to yourself and to the world that you have vowed to loose weight. It will create positive pressure on you to achieve your targets. 5. Dont consider weight loss as just an improvement to yourself; face it like a challenge which you must overcome. Its those extra pounds against your mental strength. Play the game. Play it hard.
