The Wedding Bouquet - To Toss or Not To Toss? 4 Alternatives

I love flower bouquets for weddings. If you have been to as much weddings as I have been, one of the most fun activity to watch are the single ladies climbing over each other fighting for the wedding bouquet tossed by the bride. This is usually done towards the end of the evening and as such, some of these single ladies may have had more than their fair share of drinks. Couple this with the bouquet toss, it can turnintoa mad house and can be downright embarrassing to watch.

Hence, more and more brides are now doing away with the traditional bridal bouquet toss or replacing it with some twists. Here are some bouquet toss alternatives that you can use for your wedding night:

Break-a-Way Bouquets - Have your florist create your wedding bouquet that is made up of several smaller "bouquets". Before you toss the bouquet, separate the bouquet into theindividual bouquets. Toss themini bouquets all at onceand the single ladies will scream in delight as more than one of them will get the mini bouquets

Single Flowers - In this scenario your wedding bouquet is made up of several single long stem flowers. Attached to each flower is a note which you will write some fortunes or wishes on. Before tossing, separate the bouquet into the individual flowers. Then toss those into the crowd. Again, more than one single ladies will receive the flowers. If you do not want to toss them, you can hand the individual flowers to the single ladies.

Candies/Toys/Favors Toss - If there will be many children at the wedding reception, you can opt to have both the bride and groom toss candies, toys and wedding favors to the audience.

Bouquet/Garter Toss - If you areplanning to havea garter toss, mix it up by having a bouquet and garter toss at the same time. For an added twist, have the bride toss the garter and the groom toss the bouquet. Mix up the single ladies and single guys. Watch the fun begins as they trample over each other.

If you plan on keeping your wedding bouquet, you can have your florist create a "throwaway" version.
