Is Medifast Fast And Easy?

I recently heard from someone who wrote, in part: "I've heard that medifast is probably one of the fastest and easiest diets out there. Is this true because I really don't want to waste my money or my time. What is life like on this diet? I'm just wondering whether my experience will be a positive or a negative one." These are subjective questions. Without knowing more about this person, it's challenging for me to predict what her experience might be. But, what I can do is share my own experiences and observations, which I will do in the following article.

How Easy Is Life On The Medifast Diet? When people ask me if medifast is "easy," I think that what they really want to know is if their life is going to be more complicated while they are on this diet. They want to know if the meals are difficult or time consuming to prepare or if they'll have to keep careful track of what they are eating in order to tally up their calories, proteins, and carbohydrates.

In my experience, this is one of the easiest diets out there. There are many reasons that I feel this way. First, 5 of the 6 meals that you'll be eating each day are prepackaged. They require very little in the way of preparation. In this way, being on this diet is easier than having to cook and shop for yourself. Also, you don't have to calculate or keep track of anything. As long as you eat the food that they give you, there's nothing that you need to figure out. Everything that they provide is safe. You really only need to figure out when you want to eat and which of the meals you'd like to chose.

Finally, they do ask for you to prepare one "lean and green meal" each day. Some people groan when I tell them this. I actually have a steady stream of people asking me if they can just eat a medifast meal when it's time to eat their lean and green. Really, this requirement is so easy to accomplish. I've seen people have frozen meals to meet this requirement. Quick and easy stir fries, or one pot meals can also work. You can also modify the meals that you fix for your family to work for you as well. You're only being asked to eat lean protein with three servings of vegetables. You can accomplish this in any number of ways.

How Fast Do You See Results On Medifast?: Of course, common sense tells that each person's individual results are going to vary and will depend on the person and their efforts and experiences. But, the literature and the clinical studies that have been released indicate that losing 2 5 pounds per week is what most people can expect. It might help to understand that medifast works in two ways. The diet's foods create both a calorie and carb deficit while you are taking in a high amount of protein and fiber to feel full at the same time. This helps your body to get into a metabolic state called ketosis where your body is burning its own fat.

Many people achieve relatively quick weight loss as the result of this. Once your body gets into ketosis (which generally takes about three days or more) the pounds should begin to come off at a relatively quick rate. Let's crunch the numbers. If you're on the lower end of what is typical, you're looking at losing around 10 pounds in a month. But, if you're on the higher and of the range, you're looking at losing around 20 pounds after about four weeks. Of course, some people varying results depending on many factors.

Whether or not you consider this to be "fast" or "easy" probably depends upon your perceptions. But, I find that because you eat often and the plan is so convenient, most people don't mind the diet all that much and are willing to give it a month or two to safely get the results that they want.
