Whether you are in need of extreme weight loss or a little tweaking to tighten and tone the body you have; it is easier than you think. Most of the difficulties we encounter when trying to achieve our ideal goal weight are associated with our own internal thought processes.
Terms like 'battle of the bulge' and 'war on weight loss' are commonly used and they are very negative. Who wants to get up and go into battle in a war against their own body each day? Or perhaps you have tried to diet before and had no success, so you think you are a failure and give up on yourself before you really try.
Instead of fighting ourselves in an effort to lose weight, I think it is far more positive to put together a plan of action to gain a healthy body mass appropriate to our height, age and sex. Working toward achieving a goal is a much better way to expend our energy and win the results we desire.
The only negative you want in your life, is the deficit of exercise energy output vs food energy input that you need to lose weight; or vice versa if you need to add extra pounds or kilos to be at a healthy BMI (body mass index) for your age, height, body type and sex.
Have a S.M.A.R.T. healthy weight goal; specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time orientated. Keep positive about your success, if you have an off day or two; forgive yourself, regroup and carry on. Seek out mentors and role models; garnish support from relatives, friends or other like-minded people, a great team makes success easier to achieve.
Make it a priority to educate yourself about nutrition and exercise that will help you to achieve your health goal. Books like Truth About Abs by Mike Geary have got me from full of flubber to being comfortable in a bikini with my friends and family. Easy weight loss really is not about waging war, it's about making choices to show how much you love yourself.
