Get pregnant on the double

It is a common thought that getting pregnant is a piece of cake. After all, all you need to do is get intimate and leave the rest to nature. But not all couples are lucky enough to get it right in a few attempts. Some take excessively long. Infertility can be a devastating revelation for couples who have been trying hard for children. But if all is well with you medically and you still haven't conceived, chances are you are not getting something right.

Before you sincerely begin to try conceiving, visit your doctor for a complete check-up. There may be a few areas where your body needs help and a doctor will give you all the medication you need to up your chances. Cut down on all your vices of smoking, drinking and even recreational drugs if you are into that. When having sex, enjoy the act and try and forget that you are trying to conceive. The lesser pressure you have on you the better your chances are. There are also several positions you can employ that all the sperm to remain on the inside of you. Use these as often as possible. If not, make sure you elevate your legs and lower your head once you are done. Gravity will do the job for you.

If you are trying to conceive fast, one of the first things you need to do is increase the frequency of having sex. At least three times a week, but your chances are higher when you are ovulating. For you to know when you are ovulating, get an ovulation kit or a fertility monitor. Try and relegate your readings of it to the background. Constantly harping about fertility times can be a mood kill and can work against you. Also once you have figured out your ovulation cycle, the trick is to have sex before you ovulate and not after. Two or three days before your actual ovulation sets in will increase your chances of conception.

Never ever rely on the regular calendar to predict your ovulation period. This could lead to arbitrary readings and can ruin your chances of conceiving.
