Working Within your Wedding Venue
Working Within your Wedding Venue

A wedding is a beautiful time of happiness and celebration, but quite often the celebrations can be cut off before their time by simple misunderstandings or miscommunications, prevent that unfortunate circumstance from coming to be by following the tips below and learning how to work within your wedding venue.

Perhaps you are in a hotel or maybe an establishment established strictly as a wedding reception venue, there are a few things to keep in mind when planning your big day. The first one is this, while it might be your big day it is not the venue's big day. This is not to sound rude but it is true, the people catering your wedding are not getting married, they are at work, the people working the front desk are not bearing rings or throwing rice, they are working. Treat these people well and they will treat you well, but if you get too into yourself because it is your big day, you will not be treated well.

If you are in a hotel then you must consider there is even more going on than in other places. There are business people checking in and out who probably have to wake up early to catch flights, there are families with young children and there might even be other events going on elsewhere in the hotel. Remember that unless you have reserved the entire hotel you and your guests must be respectful of the other people around you, this means in volume and in politeness.

Someone has to clean up your mess; there is even a chance that it will be your friends and family. While a little cake in the face is fine for the newlyweds, there is no excuse for a food fight and while drinking is a normal part of festivities, everyone must know their limits.

Another thing to consider is parking at the establishment you are using. Consider suggesting to your guests that they try to carpool as much as possible to cut down on the amount of space taken up by your party in the parking lot.

Again, the most important thing to remember is that just because it is your big day you are not the queen (or king) of the entire world. There are still people around who are working at the daily grind and deserve respect. Be considerate of others and your plans should go off without a hitch.
