Alcohol from liquors and wines should also be avoided during pregnancy. They also bring birth defects, mental retardation, learning disabilities and emotional problems. It can also psychologically affect the pregnant mother to the point of developing stress and depression. Why not drink water and fresh fruit juices which are refreshing and nourishing for you and the baby?

A strenuous activity is yet another one of the risky things to do during pregnancy. Performing heavy activities like pushing, pulling and lifting and any other activities which may require the exertion of too much force may cause miscarriage. If possible, ask the help of another individual, especially your husband, to perform heavy tasks for you.

Do not forget to include radioactive exposure to the list of the harmful things to avoid. Radioactive procedures such as x-rays as well as photocopying may induce birth defects. It can lead to genetic mutation resulting into a baby with obvious deformities and abnormalities.
