Prince William and Kate Middelton Royale Wedding

Since the majority of us obviously still want the monarchy, (else it would have been dismantled by now) it is befitting that Prince William's Wedding to Kate is celebrated with the pomp and pageantry, it deserves.

We as tax payers are indeed bearing the cost of the security arrangements and a third reception; however we can't afford to overlook the significant revenue generated by the royal family from tourists. We really can't have it both ways, if we must have a monarchy, then we must celebrate it accordingly.

There have been projects that the government has spent so much money on such as the millennium dome, the billions of pounds spent on the runaway' NHS IT project which in both cases has not done much to bring any excitement to our lives.

We are paying for certain aspects of Prince William and Kate's Royal Wedding as mentioned above, a wedding which is obviously a source of excitement, happiness and joy to most people.

Perhaps money well spent giving people something to be happy about and look forward to, during these particularly difficult times of rising unemployment, cost of living, cost of petrol and the various indirect taxes.

It is interesting to also read that the royal couple are making use of modern technology to disseminate information to the public (through their dedicated royal wedding website) etc.

Prince William and Kate are obviously two quite sensible individuals who have learnt from the mistakes of other Royals in the past and are doing everything right so far.

Their wedding in April will certainly assist in bringing some excitement into our lives especially during these times of economic recession. The Royal Wedding event will serve as something to look forward to, the parties and the TV coverage etc. At least we all get to dream that we are as special as they are or believe that we are partaking or a part of what promises to be the most exciting wedding so far in this decade.

Quite a few other websites and blogs have also sprung up to provide latest news and gossip as we count down to the Royal Wedding of the decade.

One of particular note because of the design, structure and clarity of information is princessroyalwedding.co.uk which also has links to the Royal Wedding Store where you can purchase quality royal wedding memorabilia, royal wedding souvenirs and royal wedding gifts.
