Vishal Bhardwaj's 7 Khoon Maaf has finally hit the screens. The likes of Priyanka Chopra, Naseeruddin Shah, John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh do raise the spirits. The movie was much in talks prior to the release as usually Bhardwaj's flicks do. Vishal Bhardwaj and Priyanka Chopra's combo is saleable since they gave the hit Kaminey' previously.

7 Khoon Maaf is loosely inspired by an Italian film Sette Volte Donna (Woman Times Seven) released in 1967. But it has its own flavor that penetrates into the spirit and get you involved into the magic. Vishal's movies always play different and carry unique subjects be told on the screen.

Susanna (Priyanka Chopra) is an unlucky in love. Her first husband Major Edwin (Neil Nitin Mukesh) happens to be over possessive and suspicious. After he dies, Susanna gets married Jimmy (John Abraham) since she loves his musical talent. He becomes much successful and success brings girls and drugs with him. He too dies with the overdose of drugs.

Enters the scene Wasiullah aka Musafir (Irrfan Khan), he is a poet. His poetry inspires Susanna a lot that she marries him. Soon she discovers that he is romantic in daytime but appears to be a beast at night. He too dies. Then she falls in love with a suave Nicolai (Aleksandr Dyachenko) from Moscow. This marriage does not go well and lasts long as Susanna comes to know that he has a wife back in Russia.

After a foreign national dies, police begins taking interest in this case. Police officer Keemat Lal (Annu Kapoor) enters into the life of Susanna. In the beginning, he asks her for the sexual favors but later he asks her to tie the knot with him. He too dies with cardiac arrest. After this man's death, she ties the knot with Dr. Modhusudon (Naseeruddin Shah). He too gets killed.

In the end, this lady marries for the seventh time. Thus what happens to this guy?

Vishal Bhardwaj is undoubtedly a man to rave big about. Laced with multi talents, he always impresses his audience and mesmerizes them.

The script written by Vishal Bhardwaj is superb but has nonetheless flaws like it leaves the audience clueless about many things. The viewer thinks that is it much easy to kill the person and move on to other life and why the police and law enforcement agencies remain silent when the multiple killings happen by the same women (the serial killer).

The direction is first rate. Vishal delivers the goods aptly on screen. The music department too is handled by the man called Vishal Bhardwaj. The music is average this time around though Vishal's compositions go well with the listeners usually but this time, this is not the case. Only Darling' is all the rage.

The cinematography appeals and the editing portion seems well too.

Priyanka Chopra is a brilliant actress and an actress of class and she proves it with almost every film of her. In 7 Khoon Maaf, she portrays different age groups and does it with conviction.

Annu Kapoor raises the spirits with his superb acting. John Abraham is okay but does not get a meaty role. Irrfan Khan shows his histrionics. Neil Nitin Mukesh does fine. Naseeruddin Shah is awesome. Rest of the cast fills the bill also.

On the whole, 7 Khoon Maaf is classically made intelligent film that has certainly potential for the section of critics and the litterateurs but as for the common audience, it does not have any offerings. But Priyanka Chopra's acting can surely drag the audience to the theaters.
