"The Internet has changed things," said Jerry Mendelsohn, a U.C. Berkeley psychologist who led a study on Online Dating. "There is no segregation on the Internet. So the question then becomes, When you have a free situation where people can contact whom they please, what will happen?"
The Berkeley study showed that "taken as a group, whites, women and older people were choosiest about sticking with others of their own color. More than four of five whites contacted other whites, while just 18% reached out to blacks. The thirtysomething African American legal clerk said, "You know, I always thought that when I married, it would be with a man of color. But not now. I think it's because I'm working with white guys. Georgia is just one of a growing number of black women who are over 30 and still single.
A recent Yale study found 42 percent of African-American women remain unmarried, compared to only 23 percent of Caucasian women.
The US Census Department counted 1.8 million more African-American women than black men! 70 percent of college graduates are married by 40, whereas only about 60 percent of black high school graduates are married by that age. A record 14.6 percent of all new marriages were between spouses of a different race or ethnicity from one another.

Black women write back the most. In many cases, their response rate is one and a half times the average, and, overall, black women reply about a quarter more often than other women.
White men receive the most responses, despite the fact that they write back the least. White women prefer white men to the exclusion of everyone else, even though they have an above-average compatibility with almost every racial group.
Asian, Black and Hispanic women prefer white men even more exclusively than white women do.
