Groom Wedding Speech: Wow The Crowd With Your Impressive Groom Speech And Toast

Groom Wedding Speech

For Immediate Release

March 19th, 2011

The first thing you need to do when giving your Groom Wedding Speech is relax. There will be plenty of time to worry about the Honeymoon when you get there. Now is the time to give thanks and recognition to those who have worked tirelessly in bringing the wedding plans together, and here are some key points to help you remember what to say.

You need to keep in mind that the Groom is supposed to be speaking on behalf of his bride. After all, it is her day to shine, and she is probably prettier than you. Let her be center stage as you make your speech and focus any comments or statements toward being thankful for all who are there, and what they have done to help with the wedding.

If you are the first one to give a speech, come up with a funny one-liner, or joke, anything that will grab the attention of the guests. This can be about marriage, the wedding party or life, but make it funny and not negative. If someone has already spoken and introduced you for your speech, then welcome the guests, your best man, and all others who played a special role. And be sure to thank everyone there for their gifts, cards, best wishes and thoughts.

Thank your wife and tell how the two of you met, your first impressions of each other, what your common interests may be, tell your wife how beautiful she is and how much she means to you. Then give her a red rose, and then give a nice toast to your bride, not the crowd. This toast is for her, and her alone.

Thank the parents of the bride. Thank the father of the bride for his speech, if he gave you one, and thank the mother of the bride by mentioning something special she did in the preparations. Maybe she made the bride's dress. Give a present to both parents of the bride, it can be a small present or flowers.

Thank your own family for everything they've given you in life, up to now. Mention a brief example of their valued support, and thank any other family members, or siblings, by describing a warmhearted moment that is an example of your family ties. And, give your parents a gift.

Thank your best man for putting up with you during all the nervous preparations. Introduce him and have him stand up so any out of town guests will know who he is. Describe how long you've known him, why he's special, where you met and anything that is a polite but funny story about the two of you.

Thank the Maid of Honor, bridesmaids, ring bearer, flower girls and pageboys by naming each of them. Tell how great they look and what a fabulous job they did by praising each of the individually for their part in things. If any of them are very young, thank their parents for lending them to the occasion. Then give all of them a gift and raise a toast to all of them.

Close your speech with something suitable, like a famous quote, poem, or joke that relates to you and your wife. If you can't find something already written, jot down some notes about different thoughts and moments in your lives and come up with a short sentence that portrays that feeling as the end of your Groom Wedding Speech.
