Soul Surfer is biographical story dealing with mostly the teen years especially the shark attack and recovery process. The book is loosely based upon the famous non fiction book of the same name. This is true account of the 13 year old girl about the family, friends, and keeping faith in tough times. The film is trying to be honest to the true life of the author, so there is a lot of research that was done before any scene was written. All the family members were interviewed and even in many scenes the movie has shown the life from different perspective not just from her.
Soul Surfer the movie has a taken in more then the book in a way you get some of the edited parts of the book included in this as well. The main role of the girl is played by Anna Sophia Robb, and as Hamilton she has shown an amazing range an actor in here as well. The family being a central part of the story they selected the actors similar to the real ones, so the parents are played by Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid. This is an inspirational movie that expresses how a girl follows her dreams.
This is a project in making for more then seven or eight years from release in 2011. Started in 2003, much work went on the research, after many changes in the key elements this came to McNamara, after that this was smooth sailing. He pushed the schedule and with in short time the movie was ready. Theproblems of a movie based upon the water incidents are that the weather is major part of filming as well.
Filmed in sunny Hawaii and Tahiti the film is visually rich. The water scenes were filmed many times, the problem was to show the whole incident as it happened. Robb was pushed with the different hiding techniques like wearing the green sleeve to add the scars later around his sleeve. This is project with perfection written all over, the additional filming was done again after the whole editing and visual effects in Tahiti.
Bethany Hamilton is the Olympic level star surfer but one sad day she was attacked by the shark. Hospitalized quickly she was Watch Soul Surfer Online amputated; losing part of her body and long recovering after has given her many battles too. The best part is that she never loses hope and returns to her first love, the surfing.
