subject: Getting Your Front Load Washer Smell-free [print this page]

Front load washers go easy on your clothes. It has the capacity to be tender on your favorite clothes unlike other washers. They handle enormous amount of laundry. Some models have steam cycles so that it can take care of the delicate clothes as well as remove wrinkles. However, if your washer smells so bad, all of these great features would be good as nothing. Therefore, you need to get your washer free from odors and smells.

Front load washers do not have the capacity to drain completely unlike the top loader ones. It would definitely be a little difficult if you are draining it not on the bottom part. Just imagine if you place hole in your plant pot. You do not put the holes on the sides rather you place them at the bottom for easier drain. Top load washers have their drain at the bottom while the front load ones do not. So you have to understand that this might be the exact cause why your washer smells.

Now that you know why your washer smells, always leave the door of the washer open so that air can circulate within and help your machine to dry off allowing the moisture to easily get out of your tub. If you do not open the door of the washer, you run the risk of growing mold and mildew inside.

You need to get yourself a washing machine detergent that is not too concentrated especially if you have been suffering for quite some time from front load washer smell. Ordinary detergents tend to produce a lot of suds that can form a barrier preventing your machine from draining water efficiently.

After you do the laundries you have to make sure that you wipe dry cloth inside the washer. If this is something that you cannot do every day, at least try o do it once a week. This will help prevent the formation of mildew washing machine usually have.

Always try to regularly clean the drain filter so that you can avoid having smell in washing machine. If much debris is accumulated on the filter, it will become a barrier for proper draining.
