The Three Key Elements to Any Fat Loss Diet

There are more diets out there under the sun then you can shake a stick at. Name your favorite style of dieting, and it's out there. Whether its high carb, low fat, low protein, high whatever, you can find something to fit your preferences. You even get silly diets that require you to do ludicrous things like only drink green tea and eat apples for two weeks, or add a pinch of dirt to your meals.

However, regardless of the kind of diet your prefer, any diet that is going to help you lose weight has to include certain basic principles to work. In today's articles we are going to take a look at these three key elements that are required for any diet to help you lose fat.

The first requirement is that the diet has to set up an inbalance in how many calories are going versus how many are being used. If you are eating more than you are burning than your diet will not work. No matter what mumbo jumbo may be said, the basics behind fat loss involves burning more calories than you consume. If you want to lose weight, you absolutely have to ensure that you are eating the correct amount of calories.

The second key principle is that your diet has to include a lot of protein. We have known for a long time now that as you lower the amount of calories you are eating the amount of protein you need goes up. This means that many diets are actually deficient in the amount of protein you need to consume, and you should ensure that you are getting enough.

You should be getting at least a quarter if not more of your total calories from lean protein sources, and anything less than that will give you inferior results.

Finally, the last requirement for any diet to ensure fat loss is that it should ensure that you are consuming some key fatty acids. These can be found inside fish such as salmon and in vegetables such as avocados, and are commonly known as W-3 fatty acids, or Omega 3's. If you don't eat sufficient of these fatty acids your diet has little chance of succeeding.

So there you have it. Beyond that you should try and get lots of fiber from veggies, and you should be set to go and lose plenty of weight!
