How Do I Get Started On The Medifast Diet?

I often get correspondence from people who are wanting to lose weight quickly, have done their research, and have decided that medifast might be the diet for them. The problem is, once they've made this decision. They aren't sure where to start. They don't know what they need to do to set themselves up for success. In the following article, I'll offer my best tips for beginning the medifast diet in the quickest and easiest way possible.

Chose Your MedifastPackage Depending On Your Needs And How Much Weight You Want To Lose: Many people don't know that there are many medifast package.

Admittedly, many people go with the basic women's package (consisting Of The Medifast 5 Plus 1.) But there are also packages for men. There's a medifast package for vegetarians. There's a medifast package that'sgluten free. There's a package for teens, nursing mother's and people with diabetes.

So the first course of business is choosing which plan is best for you. As I alluded to, unless you have a health concern, most people stick with the basic women's 5 plus 1 where you eat five "medifast meals" (prepackaged and provided for you) and one "lean and green meal" you either prepare yourself, use a suitable frozen or restaurant meal (this can be done but you have to be careful.)

Once you've chosen which plan is best for you, then you'll need to decide how you're going to order. You CAN order the medifast foods individually. (You can find a medifast food list here.) But, if you're going to be on the diet for any length of time, ordering the medifast food or mealsindividually is very expensive.

If you figure five meals per day times how ever many days, then you'll payALOT more than if you would have just gotten a package.

You'll read the "average" or typical weight loss is around 2-5 pounds per week, so if you don't have that much to lose, you can try the 2 week package. But if you have ten or more pounds to lose, a monthly package makes the most sense.

If you have a good deal of weight to lose and know you're going to be on medifast for a few months, you can save money by doing auto ship. They give you a good amount of free food and they take a nice percentage off future orders. Next, I'll go over some tips for having success when beginning medifast.

Wait For Ketosis To Kick In, Take It One Day At A Time, And Don't Be An Overachiever: Once your body gets into ketosis (which can sometimes happen in less than a week depending on many factors) you should start seeing some weight loss. There's no need to try to be an overachiever while you are waiting for this to happen.

People sometimes try to skip meals thinking this will help them lose more weight more quickly, but this often back fires since your body needs fuel to get into ketosis. So make sure you eat all six of your meals, don't over do it (your body will work hard once in ketosis) and while you're just taking it day by day, find some good lean and green meals.
