Can I Do Just Medifast Bars And A Regular Meal On The Medifast Diet?

I recently heard from someone who asked me: "is it OK if I do just medifast bars and one regular meal?" I had to ask what she meant by that. Because I wasn't sure if she meant that she was going to replace some meals with bars through out the day and then eat a regular meal later. Or, she could have also meant that she was going to include medifast bars with her regular meals.

But as I suspected, she meant that she intended to have medifast bars for breakfast and lunch and then eat a sensible dinner. This is actually very doable so long as you chose the right type of bars.

See, there's two types of bars with medifast the maintenance and the crunch. When you're on medifast full time, you eat six times per day (five medifast meals and one regular larger meal.) You can have any five meals. You could chose bars if you wanted but only if they're the crunch bars if you're going to have more than one per day.

The maintenance bars are a bit higher in calories, carbs and fat, so they only allow you one of these per day. (These are in a green wrapper.) On the other hand though, the crunch bars aren't limited. You could theoretically have as many as you want up to 5. (These are in the yellow wrapper.)

Now, I'm not sure why this person wanted to limit herself to only bars. There's plenty of other choices in this diet like shakes, eggs, pudding, soup, chili, brownies and ice cream. And all of the foods have roughly the same amount of calories, fat, carbs, and protein. So you really aren't saving yourself anything by limiting yourself to the bars.

However, I will admit that the bars are quite tasty and convenient. There's a lot to like about them. And you can order the medifast barsindividually. They come in boxes of 7. There are also included part of any of the medifast packages. And they come in nice flavors like chocolate mint, peanut butter, caramel, and oatmeal raisin. Most of them have only 110 calories or less. So I agree that these bars are a nice option, but I wanted for you to be aware that they are one of many foods.

You can see a medifast food list on my blog at http://easiest-diet.com. While there, you can read the free medifast ebook Getting The Most Out Of Medifast. It will give you all kinds of tips and recipes for having success on medifast.
