Lose Weight Easily Without Dieting Before Summertime Comes Around

You heard that right. If you are just starting to diet for the New Year's, you really don't need to go crazy with all the fancy carb, fat, protein ratios, carb restrictions, and increases in protein intake.

What most people really need to do is clean up their diet. But there are many tricks other than just cleaning up your diet that you can employ to make things much, much easier. Here is a list that will help you eat less, cut calories, and lose the weight.

Eat Your Protein First

Protein is very heavy and hard for the body to break down. It is actually around 30% more thermogenic than carbs or fats so your body has to actually use more energy to break down protein. It is also very satiating and will help keep you full for a longer period of time. If you are into protein shakes, I would suggest using a whey/casein or casein blend. The casein will take longer to digest and is a lot thicker than a whey protein shake.

Use Smaller Plates

Have you ever noticed that no matter what the size of the plate, you will always try to fill it up so there is not so much of the actual plate showing? Many people don't even realize this but they are filling up on extra calories by just using big plates and bowls. Switch to smaller plates and bowls and watch your calories intake decrease along with your waist line.

Do Not Take Seconds

The 2nd and 3rd helping are usually where all the damage is done! Those are just extra calories that nobody needs and can do big time damage to your waist line. If you still feel yourself being hungry, load up on more vegetables instead. And that brings us to our 4th point...

Feast on Green Veggies

Green vegetables contain tons of fiber, vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients. They will help you stay full and stuffed for a long period of time. And the best part is they contain a very small amount of calories and there will be an almost non-existent rise in blood sugar since they are low in carbohydrates.

Don't Drink Your Calories

Drinking your calories in the form of soda, ice tea, kool aid, lemonade, or alcohol can add hundreds of calories to your meal and most of these calories are in the form of pure sugar, which are obviously a big no no if you are trying to lose belly fat. If you are having trouble giving up the sugary drinks during meals, switch to Crystal Lite, which has great flavor without all of the added calories.

Chew Your Food

How many of you remember your parents yelling this at you during dinner cause you were eating too fast? I certainly do, especially since I tend to eat really fast. But what many people don't realize is that digestion takes place in the mouth first with an enzyme called Amylase and it's responsible for beginning the process of breaking down carbohydrates. Also, by chewing your food, you prepare all of those protein, carbs and fats, to be readily absorbed by your gut since they are being broken down into smaller pieces. Another cool thing that happens by chewing your food nice and slow is you'll realize when you're full a lot faster than if you were just stuffing your face.

Let me explain...

The time that it takes for your body to realize that it is full is around 15 minutes on average. Now, if you were to chew really fast and go for seconds, you would still think you are hungry when in actuality, you had enough. If you were to chew slowly, you would give your body enough time to relay that message to the brain that you are full and thus, you would not need to go for seconds or maybe even a third helping.

Use these little tricks to cut down the calories without the feeling of dieting because I know it can feel like a burden on some days.
