How Much Would An Entire Year Of Medifast Cost?

I recently had someone contact me and ask me how much medifast would cost if you were on it for a whole year. This person was looking at gastric bypass (which can costs around $20,000) and wanted to know how much cheaper medifast could be.

Well as you might suspect, a year of medifast is ALOT cheaper than $20,000. And, I would argue that you could get similar results. As the typical results are said to be anywhere from 2 -5 pounds per week, 8 to 20 pounds per month is certainly not out of the question for some -although common sense would tell you that results will vary. So in the following article, I will tell you approximately what the annual cost of medifast would be.

A Year Of Medifast Would Cost Only As Much As Your Food Would Cost: Before I actually add up the cost, I want to tell you that you only pay for your food on this diet. There's no "membership" fees or payments that you have to make to get counseling or use the services. All of that is included with any free membership. You pay for your meals and any shipping associated with that and this is all. Plus, they sometimes offer free shipping.

The Cost For A Year Of Medifast Food WillVary Depending On Which Package You Chose And Which "Extras" You Buy: Many of the packages (regular, vegetarian, gluten free, diabetic, etc.)all costs the same amount. Sometimes though, we chose to buy a few extras to get us through with our favorites until the next package.

For example, I'm pretty fond of ordering extra brownies and ice cream just because I particularly like those foods and eat a lot of them. I also typically order extra bars because they are so good and convenient. I like to keep them in my purse in case I'm stuck somewhere and I get hungry.

Looking At The Yearly Cost For A Basic Medifast Package: To make things easier and easier to figure out, I'm going to just use the basic women's package. And I'm not going to figure in using medifast coupons, but I would certainly suggest you use them. However, just to make life easier, I'll round the before coupon $299 price for the basic medifast package to $300 per month.

$300 X 12 months in the year = $3,600 per year. Needless to say, this is ALOT less than the $20,000 for gastric bypass. Sure, you may order some extra brownies, bars, shakes or ice cream and these little extras would bring this cost up.

And you'll be making your "lean and green meal" so you'll need to buy groceries for that. (But you'd also have to buy foodafter gastric bypass as well.) I think it's pretty fair to say that you're arguablylooking at less than 1/4 of the cost of gastric bypass. It's a significant savings.

The person who wrote me wanted to know if would make sense to just go ahead and order a year's worth of food at once. You could do this, but I don't see why you'd have to. You can sign up for auto ship where they'll automatically send more food when one order runs out. And, they give you discounts and free shipping for doing this so I think it would work out to be cheaper in the long run and you wouldn't have to worry about storage as much.

Plus, who knows? You might get results sooner than you expected and may not need as much as you thought. I think it's better to order as you go, but I do understand the need to be prepared and to make a firm commitment.
