Build and Design

HP Envy 13 features a magnesium shell simple, eye-catching graphics. Build quality is good. The notebook looks and feels solid in your hand.

Envy 13 The upgrade is not very friendly. There is no easy access panels on the bottom of the laptop which means you better make the necessary improvements when you buy the laptop rather than trying to do it yourself.

Screen and speakers

HP Envy 13 has a 13.3-inch "HP Radiance display is remarkably bright. The screen is bright, but its luminosity offsets. In fact, you can use the Envy 13 in full sun and you can always find that the screen is quite readable. The viewing angles are average.

The speakers produce a clear and strong. But overall audio quality is not very impressive. Audiophiles should certainly consider investing in a pair of headphones. They can also use the HDMI output for digital audio broadcasting to a stereo. "HP Envy 13"

Keyboard and touchpad

Envy 13 The keyboard is one of the best you'll find on a laptop 13 inches. The Chiclet-style keyboard is full size with a good amount of space between each key. the keyboard shows no flex at all. Individual key action is smooth and quiet.

The Synaptics touchpad is a model. He is big and roomy touch pad buttons.

Ports and Features

Port selection is average. There is an SD card slot, two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI output and a combo audio jack. It's very disappointing because most 10-inch and 11 inch laptops offer more. In fact, given the cost of the laptop HP could have added at least another USB port and FireWire and eSATA.

Performance

The performance is satisfactory, but it is unremarkable given the price of the laptop. The dual core processor SL9600 has enough power to manage day to day computing jobs. Multitasking is also quite possible.

The Envy 13 has both integrated and discrete graphics, which means you can watch HD video and play games without having to compromise on battery life. When the adapter is plugged in, the ATI graphics solution will be automatically activated. And when the laptop runs on battery only integrated graphics are used.

Heat and noise

heat levels are normal. The cavity of the hard drive does get warm, but there is nothing to fear. Noise levels are above average. If you need absolute silence to your workspace, the Envy 13 is probably not the laptop to buy.

Battery

The device is equipped with a 4-cell battery rated at 41Wh. It gets about 7 hours which is very bad for a 13-inch laptop.

Final Words:

HP Envy 13 is an alternative MacBook "no." It was probably built for one, but unfortunately it missed the target completely. It has a number of extra points, including a large keyboard, impressive build quality, good battery life and an attractive design. On the other hand it lacks a number of ports and is more expensive than the MacBook Pro 13 inch.
