Far too often we set out to lose weight, only to not achieve what we first set out to do. Many reasons for this is due to high expectations, or simply not in the right frame of mind. To successfully meet your weight loss goals, you need to be mentally ready.
Some need to be highly motivated whilst others don't. Whether it's to get back into those school day clothes, fit into that dream wedding dress, or to lose your pregnancy weight, being motivated will help you reach your goals.
Not everybody that exercises is wishing to lose weight. Some of us have a desire to be as physically fit as possible and feel that by doing this you will live longer, enjoy life more, have a higher self esteem, and be more attractive. Either way, what ever your reason is to exercise you need find the motivation deep within.
Another reason to lose weight is for family reasons, keeping up with your young children and being a healthy role model for them. We all know that children are only children for a short time, before we know it they will be going to school, university, getting there drivers license and starting a family of there own. We want to be around to watch them reach there potential and fulfill there goals, and for some of us that means having to lose weight and become more active so we can watch them do this.
Religion may also be a motivator. Some of us believe that our bodies should be treated as a temple. You only have the one. There is nothing wrong this reason, although it may take others longer to get into this right frame of mind. If your faith can give you the will power and strength you need to reach your dieting and weight loss goals then rely on your faith and hold it close.
No matter what motivation you have for dieting and losing weight if you find it is no longer working for you, then you need to find another motivator fast.
