5 Ways Losing Weight Will Make Your Life Better
by Sonia Waleyla, CPT
1. You will know that you can achieve what you set your mind to.
Working out shows you that what seemed a distant dream can be real. Knowing this mentally is one thing but experiencing it directly is what changes you. Having a before and after photo - being able to say wow, I did this, I succeeded - this will show you that you can succeed, period. Many people who lose weight go on to tackle other goals they'd put off, knowing now that there was nothing to stop them.
2. You will have more energy, passion, and enthusiasm.
Weight loss frees up energy. Less energy goes into maintaining excess pounds. Your skeleton has less to carry around. Your muscles become more efficient. You'll wake up more energized, ready to take on life. This extra energy gives you more emotional juice, and you'll feel more optimistic overall.
3. You will be healthier.
When you lose weight you also buy life-extension credits, giving you more years, better years, and less physical pain and difficulties during those years. Your chances of coming down with major diseases are sharply cut. Little things that may have been bothering you will often vanish. Your body will work better to heal, rejuvenate, and maintain itself.
4. You will be stronger.
Going up stairs won't get you out of breath. Picking up that box won't throw your back out. When you go about your life you'll notice that certain things are easier. It takes only one hand now to move the full pot from the sink to the stove. Carrying your child won't be a chore. You won't notice these changes until one day you go to do something and realize that It's become easy when once it was not.
5. You will feel more confident and happy with yourself.
People do feel better when they look better. It's just one of those facts whether we like it or not. When you feel that you look your best, you'll have more confidence to put yourself out there and be who you are. When you're not feeling shy or ashamed about your weight It's much easier to let go of being self-conscious and start relating to people from a more centered, self-assured state of being.
