As a youth leader of a youth ministry you are delivering the word of God to your students on a consistent basis. When you're delivering the word of God to your students you are empowering them and you are cooking them with the tools they need to be successful in life for many years after they leave your youth ministry teachings. When you give your students a strong foundation in sound biblical scripture you are not only spreading the word of God but you are equipping them with the ability for them themselves to spread the word of Jesus Christ.
When you are delivering your Bible lessons to youth ministry should always remember that it is not about you. The Bible lessons that you delivered to youth ministry will not always be perfect and will not always be as good as you want them to be. Don't let this get in the way of you spreading the word to your youth ministry students. If a Bible lesson that you have prepared for your students is imperfect in your mind you must get over that fear and do the actual part of delivering the message. If you tinker with the Bible lesson until it is quote unquote perfect, the window where the opportunity for your students to accept the message may have closed. So if you have a timely idea where you can relate the Bible to current events that are affecting your students and you have the ability to deliver a sermon or a Bible lesson have a rough idea of what you want to do and just do it.
As a youth leader you should want to help your students cultivate a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ. When you help your youth ministry students build a personal strong meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ you are giving them the confidence and the strength to not only be a follower of Jesus Christ but to be a leader among them. When you give your students sound biblical scripture teachings you are giving them the tools that they need to reach out to others who need saving. When you make an impact in one of your students lives you are allowing them to not only help themselves but to help others along with their struggles. When you empower one of your youth ministry students they will likely have the ability to connect with other students and their peers in a way that you as an adult cannot.
In the end it is very important for you as a youth ministry leader to keep Jesus Christ first in everything that you do. When you keep God first and you teach your youth ministry students sound biblical scripture teachings you are helping your students, you are helping your community, and you're helping God. When you help somebody along the road to a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ you will find that it is one of the most impactful and one of the most satisfying things that any human being can accomplish.
