Saved by an autobus in Montreal

Anybody in this reputable advertising firm can attest that I am one if not the only efficient marketing officer of the company so whenever my too-meticulous-for-comfort boss can't make it to his black-tie function anywhere in the globe, he turns to me his only savior.

This, however, is the first time I was caught in disconcertion as my boss asked me last minute to supervise the campaign proposal of our creative team for big shots at the Intercontinental Hotel & Resorts in Montreal. I was not able to book a limousine service in Montreal and even if I did now, the limo firm in Montreal will not accommodate us anymore because we'll need the ride by tomorrow.

Companies offering chauffeured are very efficient and professional. I should know, as we've been availing services from these for five years now so I would as much as possible want to maintain a healthy relationship with them. If I force something that will go against their guidelines, I'm not only going to ruin our relationship with these companies but also tarnish our good reputation.

On our flight to Montreal, I couldn't manage to make my mind work and plan for tonight's campaign as it's preoccupied with thoughts on how to get our team to the hotel in good taste. See, we're armed with our presentation tools and equipment let alone in formal clothes.

Reaching the airport is not at all thrilling, in fact part of me wished I was back in Vancouver. We immediately tried our luck on a limo company by dialing its hotline number. Truth is, I am not expecting to get a positive response from this call so when a woman's voice came to the other end of the line, I casually tell her my intent and after a short pause, she says she can offer us their elegant, says the woman, can only be savored when onboard a comfortable luxury vehicle. Since there are seven of us in the group, I figure that vehicle would be perfect for us. I could not thank the kind woman enough for accommodating us despite our failure to book a ride beforehand. Aside from telling me that I am most welcome, the woman further adds that everybody in Montreal is a gracious host who would go out of his way to give guests a wonderful time so that one day when they look back at their Montreal experience, they can only smile and say, "Now, that was my best trip ever."
