First and foremost, get rid of that stress factor. It is the most common problem which ails the aspirants but it is important that you know that stress inevitably leads to their downfall. To eliminate that stress factor, try and stay calm. Have confidence in yourself and keep a positive attitude. Have faith in yourself and your preparation.

Secondly, stay focused once you are in the exam hall. Keep in mind that efficient management of time and wise decision making abilities will save your day. The exam lasts a good 120 minutes. If you handle the pressure well in the first quarter of an hour, half the battle will be won.

CAT is another name for unpredictability. If it is not confusing, then it is not CAT. They will try to confuse the hell out of you and that is the major reason why you need to keep cool.Anyway, as soon as you get the question paper spare the first five minutes to locate the easiest questions. Then start with the section you are most comfortable with. Make sure that you arrange the order of the sections so that you need not have to jump from one section to the other. Organize your answers according to that.

Allot time for each section. Do not waste too much time on a single section. If you are stuck, move on to the next question. Keep your strategy flexible in this case. If you had previously decided that you would spend a solid 40 minutes on a certain segment and the questions have turned out to be pretty difficult, then extend the time for that section a little by decreasing some minutes from an easier section. By all means, please, please, please, attempt your favorite section before everything else.

Avoid the speed breaker questions. They are tricky and take a long time to solve. Attempt only those questions where you can eliminate at least two to three answers. There is a practice of negative marking so kindly be as careful as possible.

Cracking CAT is no big deal. You just need the right attitude and the correct techniques.
