How To Look After Your Clients This Christmas

Do you run an organisation that builds its success through strong relationships with clients and customers? Here are five steps to help foster a long-lasting and fruitful partnership with your most valued clients this Christmas.

1. Sending your clients a Christmas is a good idea, especially if it's signed by all the team (or at least the ones the client knows) to say thank you for the year that's about to end is a nice touch, which shows that you genuinely care.

2. Nobody wants to work over the festive break, neither you or your clients, so make sure you work extra hard in the run up to Christmas to make sure everything is done. Not only will this be great for your team, but when your client's at home with their family, they'll be very grateful.

3. Make sure, no matter how hectic or stressful things are getting in the office, that you always greet your clients with a smile and do whatever you can to be helpful. If what they ask of you isn't possible, that's fair enough, but chances are you'll find a way to keep them happy.

4. One great way to show your appreciation for the work they've given you over the past 12 months is to invite them to your Christmas party. Or host an event just for clients and staff that celebrates all that's been achieved in 2010.

5. The phones are likely to be ringing off the hook over the Christmas period and if your most valued clients are having to wait on the line or keep calling back, it's probably going to leave them frustrated and disillusioned with your business.

You may want to consider using an outsourced call centre, which will act as your reception, taking messages from less urgent calls and putting the important ones through to you. As well as making sure you never miss a client call, not having to deal with the non-pressing calls every time the phone rings will probably give you more time to dedicate to your client's work.
