All over the world, people have their own favorite holidays that they look forward to year after year. Chanukah is a famous Jewish holiday that is celebrated for eight days and nights to honor the re-dedication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. It is also associated as the Jewish version of the Christian community's Christmas celebration.

Chanukah holidays adapts many of our Christmas traditions such as exchanging gifts, putting up holiday decorations and celebrating it a great feast of great food and exotic meals. Many families look forward into reuniting with their relatives as they celebrate this special season of love and spirituality.

Of course, any celebration wouldn't be complete without having a feast of your favorite Chanukah dishes. Fried foods and dairy foods are just some of the highlights of a common Chanukah feast tradition. Fried foods like "sufganiyot" or jelly filled doughnuts and "latkes" or potato pancakes are very popular during this time of the year.

Since Chanukah is also known for its elaborate gift giving tradition, many children can't wait to get hold of their newly wrapped presents which comes in different sizes. Chanukah toys are particularly common as presents to little kids.

Especially designed toys are created to teach Jewish children of the significance of the Chanukah tradition. However, it doesn't neglect the need of fun and entertainment during play thus it replicates most toddler toys that children of all ages love to play with.

Puzzles, art kits and board games are just some of the common Chanukah toys little kids love. Plush menorahs are soft, colorful and safe to be played on by toddlers and growing babies. A Dreidel is a spinning top that contains four sides with each side bearing a Hebrew letter that forms an acronym, NGHS. This acronym stands for "Nes Gadol Hayah Sham" which means "A great miracle happened there".

Aside from these, there are also some educational toys suitable for growing kids with inquisitive minds. Arts and crafts materials, story books and musical CDs that impart the custom of the Chanukah tradition are great choices for holiday gifts. Many children love hearing stories and this will be perfect for kids who are curious of how the Chanukah holidays began.

People may vary from religion, beliefs or values but there will always be something left in common among all of us. Our love for our family and children will always bring us together to celebrate our different traditions. Traditions, such as Chanukah, Christmas or Thanksgiving always unite each and every one of us to commemorate our values with respect and love for one another.
