Prince Promises That Tour Would Be "Funky"

The iconic 52 year old singer Prince recently announced that he's embarking on a tour beginning "one a purple day" in December. The musical extravaganza is expected to feature artists including Janelle Monae, Sheila E., Cassandra Wilson, Lalah Hathaway, Esperanza Spalding, Maceo Parker, Mint Condition and Graham Central Station.

The anticipation for the tour is high. Prince began his 20Ten Tour on July 4th in Europe, however there were no hints as to a U.S leg of the tour which left many fans disappointed but still hopeful that he'd surprise them. And so he did, you can only imagine the excitement when Prince finally announced that he would embark on the U.S leg of the tour. The ever talented musician, singer and songwriter stated that he would serve as the master of ceremonies and perform with his band for the tour dubbed "Welcome 2 America". He has promised that the tour can be "best described as what we've all been waiting for." Prince also proclaimed to "bring friends, bring your children and bring foot spray 'cause it's gonna be funky." And funky we all expect it to be without a doubt.

Prince is currently wrapping up the 2nd leg of his 20Ten Tour with a concert in Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on November 14th. After much confusion and excitement about when exactly that "purple day" would be, some dates of the tour are now available and that "purple day" would be December 14th in New York. More dates are expected to be be added as the tour progresses so don't give up hope if dates for a city near you are not available yet. Tickets for the tour dates that have been confirmed have just gone on sale. Those of you trying to find tickets can try (http://www.charged.fm/performer/item/365/prince ). I cannot wait to see Prince rock the stage once again.
