Losing weight can be achieved by being more active, eating less and having support.

This sounds simple but in todays society it is difficult to achieve. Less energy is needed to do most jobs in our modern world, and many of us have yet to learn to adjust our eating habits to todays life. And lack the weight loss support we need.

When I was a young child andteenager I had to walk two miles to the bus stop to get to school. How many kids today get dropped offand met by the school gates in a car?

To lose weight one needs;

A good amount of determination to stick to the diet until the desired results are obtained.

A change to the daily routine to allow time for regular exercise such as time to walk instead of using public transport or the car.

A desire to find out about nutrition and how a good selection can help weight loss without putting your health at risk.

Co-operation from friends and family.

A strong support network.

The majority of diets dont work and I believe the reason why is down to 5 common trends.

UNSUSTAINABLE. Could you eat cabbage for every meal for the rest of your life? Unlikely. How about a cabbage soup for a couple of months? These diets might make you lose weight, but what are they doing to your health?

HARD TO FOLLOW. Many diets are just too complicated. Calorie counting, carb counting, fat counting, analyzing the types of fats, good carbs, bad carbs, empty carbs. A diet that is too complex is too hard to follow.

THEY BECOME A TOO MUCH WORK. Some diets practically require you to have your own Body guard. A diet should be a lifestyle and should be a positive experience!

EXPENSIVE. Clink! Ching! That is the sound of you wheeling your brand new exercise bike into your living room. Or the new wonder weight loss drug or surgery advertised on television. A diet should be affordable and you should not need to buy any special meals or equipment to lose weight.

LACK MOTIVATION.This is the problem with many diets. They do not give you the goals, support or motivation you need to succeed.

There are support groups like weight watchers, but they entail a paid monthly or three monthly membership. And it all adds up.
