You Don't Think Men Get Turned Off? It's Time You Learned

Do you doubt that men can ever be turned off by a woman? Have you ever been in the midst of a conversation when suddenly the guy finds an excuse to walk away? Are you reluctant to believe you might have had something to do with his sudden departure? Women are constantly saying and doing things that really turn men off. What are you guilty of?

Chances are, if you've done something to turn a guy off, he's too cowardly to confront you and tell you up front what went wrong. But there are a few common things that always seem to be faulted.

Bringing up your ex is one thing guys don't want to hear about. While you might want to mention him in passing if the conversation brings you there, quickly move onto something else. If you're still pained by the break-up, this new guy doesn't want to hear about it. If you're still in love with him, he doesn't want to know. And if he was a jerk you wished would disappear from the face of the earth, he still doesn't want to know.

Then there's women's not-so-subtle way of mentioning that they're looking for a real serious relationship. Though this may be true, putting it out there, especially right from the start, can be really intimidating. The guy suddenly feels he's at a job interview. There's no harm in spending a bit of time getting to know him before you knock him over the head with your future plans.

And finally there's the subject of finances; his and yours. With so many women in great careers and impressive salaries, the temptation to boast about a paycheck can be difficult to deny. But bringing this up is tacky. On the flip side, despite so many women on the work force, many are looking for an easy ride and want to know up front if this guy can handle the fare.

Even a hint of curiosity about his salary can have him crossing you off his list of potentials fast enough. Let the time you spend with him be an indicator of his finances.

While you should always avoid these three topics when on a date, you should also remember to avoid monopolizing the conversation, no matter what you're talking about. Though he might want to learn about you and hear about a variety of things about you, you neither want to bore him with too many little details or leave him dizzy from your endless stories.

Keep it balanced, keep an ear open and interested, and you won't turn him off.
