Why does not man look above his head, should he have one?
We are preoccupied with ourselves, our pleasure, our lives, our food, our drink, our home, our work, our sex, our society, our utilities: Utter engagement in self-egotism, never leaving our own self-centered circle but just the opposite plunging into the satisfaction of our own lusts and desires. We never leave our selves to look into others, except for self interest, and look into the creator of others and ourselves.
The absence of sight for our naked eyes does not mean that God does not exist. God is not seen by the human eye but can be seized by the mind's eye. His presence does not have to be proven. He is not subject to the experimental scientific empirical experience that must be absolutely proven, and beyond any doubt, in order to be accepted as real.
God is not an experiment in the laboratory of the chemist or biologist, nor of the mathematician or the astrophysics. God is the creator of all these, whether scientists, humans, animals or vegetables, the totality of knowledge and the brains, should these scientists have one, to think with it, should they be lucky enough to do so.
If scientists, the so called knowledgeable, for they practice exact and applied knowledge, do not believe in what they cannot see or prove, then they cannot accept God. God, in the knowledge of the scientist remains outside thought or belief for His existence cannot be subject to proof or evidence.
But scientists, blinding themselves to the reality of their own knowledge and science, remain absurdly limited to their limited and shortcoming tools of their profession.
Well, if we, humans, and scientists, whether humans or not, look a little just above our heads, forgetting our own problems, living conditions, egotism, and self interest, then perhaps we shall be open to see more into the reality of things, of life and death, of the purpose of our own being.
We do not see God with the naked eye, but if we look above into the sky, into our life, and look for a cause, a principle, a prime and source of knowledge of things and not limit ourselves to the shallow and superficial every day chatter and narrow-mindedness tiny-winy things, then we approach reality.
Persistence in our refusal to live on the margin of life, body pleasure and aspire for mental and spiritual pleasure, and leave our minds open for real food then we might catch a glimpse of what is real and not of what is false. Most of us, if not all, engage ourselves with how to get the better of everything, in the shortest possible time.
We sacrifice our reality of being and the wider vision of things for the sake of a passing pleasure that is transitory and unreal. We, by raising our heads a little above our daily lives and above our heads, we are able to reach a better reality and a better truth, bettering thus ourselves and enriching our own being by knowing more about the real principle of everything: God.
You may not need God, but without such a power your own being, made up of simple atoms, put togetherand kept together, shaped and formed together, until your death,is reduced to nothing, save self-centered animalistic-vegetable-robotic living, that leads to nothing except to absurdity and emptiness.
