subject: Putting The Right Words To Your Wedding Invitation [print this page]

Since the wedding invitation plays a very important part in your wedding, it is of utmost importance that you are careful in putting the right words into it. Moreover, a customized invitation is better than traditional ones with fill-in-the-blanks templates. When writing your invitation, make sure every line reflects just what you want your guests to expect on the most important day of your life.

In this day and age, couples who spend for their own wedding tend to leave out the names of their parents on the invitation. This may be fine but still it would be better if you stick to the traditional approach of putting your parents name on the request line. Doing so is not about a matter of whos paying but about giving respect and honor to the most important people in your life even before you met your partner.

Choose a fun and unique way to write the request line. While its okay to stick to the usual We request the honor of your company line, it would be more interesting if you add a little bit of emotion and write something that goes, Come and witness how two hearts are made into one. This type of approach will work best for a casual wedding.

Aside from the appearance of the invitation, the words themselves should also reflect the theme of the wedding. You can use vivid words to achieve that. It would also be nice if you add a little twist into it by writing the lines in a story form. For a wedding theme that reflects how the couples met, you can write a line this way, Lets celebrate under the apple tree where Misty and Edward met and fell deeply in love with each other.

If your wedding falls on a special holiday, your invitations should be sent out two months prior to the wedding so that your guests can have enough time to plan and save the date. It is also suggested that you add something that goes, ...since its a holiday, we recommend that you do your bookings in advance, for holiday weddings that are to be celebrated out of town.

Lastly, before giving out the draft for the suppliers to print, make sure you have double-checked it for misspelled names of location and the bridal entourage. Make sure as well that you havent left out any important detail such as the date and time, the attire to be worn, and the church name and venue.
