Fat loss naturally would be the approach I would choose for myself if I needed to shed a few pounds today. In my mind if I am fat or overweight it is due to unhealthy habits I formed in the past whether they be eating habits or lazy habits such as not doing any exercise. The older I get the more I realize how crucial exercise is for the body and the mind especially. Even the simple exercise of walking can have tremendous benefits for a person's body and mind.

Associated with being overweight is a huge psychological burden and feelings of guilt and incompetence to lose the weight which causes many to look for quick fixes, such as fad diets or pills, neither of which work in the long term. Sometimes it becomes a situation of misery where you try a fad diet or take some diet pills and get some temporary results.

Only it turns out that once you stop either of these you tend to rapidly re-accumulate the weight you lost and worse you sometimes find yourself putting back on even more weight. So now you're back to square one, if you're lucky and have not regained more than you lost.

I do believe that for some of us our bodies are genetically designed to be bigger than others and that is okay. Even though sometimes society makes you feel like you should be as skinny as a pin. The key is that everyone has an ideal weight. More importantly is how one feels with their weight and bodies.

There is also the health factor to consider when managing your weight as well. Being overweight has many potential health problems that could arise.

Think of it this way...if you are overweight, then your body is not in it's peak of health. Make sense? So why then would you introduce drugs or some fly by night diet to a compromised body to try to lose the weight? The best thing you could do for your body is give it the good stuff, exercise, better foods etc.
