How Good Is T-mobile Coverage Compared To Other Mobile Companies?

With most mobile phones available from any number of carriers these days, and more and more people switching from regular handsets over to smart phones that can be easily modified and unlocked, the choice of carrier has become more about what kind of a good deal you can get than anything else. However, it's also important to remember that a big part of being happy on a mobile phone deal is actually using your phone! To do that, you obviously need good reception wherever you go.

Reviewing mobile phone reception is difficult, because obviously it can depend on where you are. That's why there only 100% reliable way to test a carriers signal is to find a friend who uses that provider and borrow their phone for a day. Obviously you won't be able to test the signal everywhere you might go, but this will allow you to see what the coverage is like in your own home and around your neighbourhood, where it's most vital you have a working mobile signal.

T-mobile coverage in the UK is very good, and should provide access to the vast majority of the country, even those living in rural areas. Coverage inside buildings might not be as good as what can be offered by other providers, but it's certainly not significantly worse. The great news is that T-mobile recently signed a deal with Orange which means if you don't have any T-Mobile signal your phone will switch you over to the Orange network.

This is the only deal of its type in the UK and effectively doubles the likelihood of having a signal for both T-Mobile and Orange customers. Your charges stay the same no matter what signal you use, so you don't have to worry about having two separate bills either nor do you have to do any setting up, making the whole service entirely automatic. There are few places in the UK that wont receive a signal from either T-Mobile and Orange, and those that do exist are likely not served by any other mobile operator, either!

Don't forget that different phones can also give you some variation in signal. The quality of the antenna on the phone doesn't matter as much as it used too, but some older smartphones don't pick up mobile signal as well as some newer handsets, especially on the 3G network. Check out the latest handset reviews for more information on how good each phone is at picking up a signal and if they offer any features that can help you manage your reception, including features such as data roaming and international support.
