How do you Choose The Right Teeth Whitening Color

The Holidays are fast approaching and well all hopefully experience good food, good times, and good company with friends and family we may not have seen in a while. As we dress in our finest clothes, make sure each hair is in place, and finish off with a touch of perfume or cologne did we forget something? (Teeth Whitening perhaps)

One of the first things our friends and family will notice is our smile when we hug, shake hands, or say hello. Will it be a bright smile or one that perhaps is slightly yellow or discolored. There is still plenty of time to whiten up your teeth before the holiday parties start.

Now were not talking Ross Geller white like the time he accidentally over-whitened his teeth to impress a date on Friends. No, more like subtly enhancing your smile to return it to a clean, natural white color.

Is Teeth Whitening a Habit for you yet?

Did you know that people associate a discolored smile with a persons other hygiene habits? What inferences do you think people draw from your smile? What conclusions do you draw when you see a person with brown or yellowing teeth?

What we hear most often is I never realized the color of my smile was so dull, or, I didnt realize my teeth looked so yellow until I saw a recent picture of myself. Its tough to notice the gradual fading our teeth experience when we see ourselves in the mirror everyday. Its not like gaining a few pounds and noticing our clothes feel snug. Theres no real aha moment to signal to us that our teeth are slowly dulling. And do we think someone will mention it to us? Probably not. It really is one of those self-check things we need to do periodically.

So how can you do a self-check?

Photos are one indicator, but Martin Zase, former president of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry suggests that people who want to whiten their smile should aim for a color that matches the whites of their eyes. If a quick mirror check reveals a disparity between the color of the whites of your eyes and that of your teeth, it might be time to restore some luster to your smile.
