After two weeks of exhaustive diet you can finally wear you favourite jeans!Its was tough but you managed to lose 12 pounds in just 2 weeks!So now you think that you are free to eat again all your favorites foods and there is no need for hanging around the gym anymore.Right?Wrong!!

If you do that then its 100 % sure that in less than 6 months you will be again in the same position and maybe even heavier than before. But this time it will be even harder to shed the pounds.But what is the reason and how can you avoid the yo yo diet effect ?Many studies have shown that people with this lifestyle have weak immune system due to the distabilising effect of the diet.Experts say that is better preserving your body weight the same even with a few pounds more than losing and gaining weight all the year.But who likes to wait to see long term results?The majority usually can't wait.Usually this kind offers super fast results and this is the reason why people fall for. But following these diets comes with a price: there is lack of good nutrition and more over because we deprive ourselves from all our favorite foods, as soon as we can we will be tempted to stuff ourselves.

When we lose too much weight too fast we actually lose muscle tissue and body liquids not fat!As a result after a few months when all the weight has been regained, the body tends to store more fat than initially lost.

How to avoid this phenomenon of the yo-yo diets?Obviously the weight loss must be little,no more than 1 pound per week.You will have to reduce gradually the amount of calories you consume so your body won't feel deprived.Another important thing to do is allow all food groups in your diet(carbs,protein,etc).Exercise is necessary in order to maintain the muscle tissue and burn more calories ;twenty minutes of cardio every day will be ideal ,good types of cardio are: brisk walking,running,cycling or any other activity that can raise your heart rate.And by no means do not skip breakfast.Going without breakfast means you likely will eat more throughout the day.
