The Apple Diet - Does It Work?
The Apple Diet - Does It Work?

The apple program is a topic I get asked by weight loss clients every once in a while when they first join my program. What exactly is it? Does it give good results? Is it risk-free? All legitimate questions for those looking to shed weight fast. Asian women get their lean bodies by using natural fruits like apples, but in a different way than you may assume. Let's examine how apples can either help, or hurt, your chances of losing fat fast!

The Apple Program - Does It Get The Job Done?

Whenever I hear about a diet fad that has the person hoping to lose weight eating nothing but a single food item my radar for nonsense goes to high alert.

Ordinarily these diets have you consuming the food item for one, two, or even all three of your daily dishes for a few days in a row, followed by a single day of light meals.

The issue with this method is that we as human beings are not able to get 100% of the vitamins and nutrition we need from just a single food source. We developed over time by eating thousands of different types of food, and using the best parts of each one of them as we digest what we've eaten.

Now this doesn't mean The Apple Diet is a disappointment and that it won't allow you to lose weight. Here's how...

The Right Time for an Apple

Asian women use a number of tricks to get thin and keep the pounds off, and one of these tricks entails eating an apple before a big evening meal (dinner).

My own Chinese Mother used to make my sisters and I eat at least half an apple about 20 minutes before supper, she called it a "treat", but in reality she was passing down something her own Mother had taught her years before about dieting.

By eating an apple prior to dinner, you get a great boost of fiber and healthy calories. This has two outcomes in that it enables you to feel more satisfied and less famished when you sit down to consume the main meal, so you eat a smaller amount, and you also will eat more gradually since you're not so crazy from hunger.

You eat a smaller amount, and you eat more slowly, both of which allow your body to better soak up the calories you're eating without going above your metabolism's ability to burn off those calories for energy. Just that uncomplicated action, one apple before dinner, can lead you to eat between 200-400 less calories at dinner...which in 30 days means you saved between 6,000 and 12,000 calories that you otherwise would have eaten!

Little things like this can go quite a distance. While eating apples all the time on the Apple Diet is far too extreme, the one-apple-before-dinner trick may be the ideal spark that ignites a better body for the rest of your life...
