Multiplication for Little Kids

It is important to introduce mathematics to your children as early as possible. Multiplication comes to be the principal thing of math. Teaching little kid multiplication needs patience and creativity. However, we are sure that you can do it. Thus, we want to help you with the following tips on teaching multiplication to your little kids.

First thing you should do is to prepare the tools. You can use a book and/or a whiteboard as the media. It is suggested that you put a whiteboard in their bedroom. Don't clear the whiteboard. Let the previous lesson on the whiteboard before you give a new material so that they can see it anytime they want. Make sure that the multiplication on the whiteboard is written neatly and simply.

The best way to help them memorize multiplication is to make some tricks. Take for example, you can tell them that the number 11 multiplied by the number 1-9 comes in identical twin digits like 22 comes from 11 x 2, 33 (11 x 3), 11 x 9 equals 99, and so on.

You can also play a game on multiplication with your kids. If you have two or more kids who learn multiplication at the same time you can make a competition. Or, you can ask them to invite their friends sometimes. You can give them a simple competition game using cards. Don't use the jokers and face cards. Instead, use only those with numbers. Pick out two cards and ask them to multiply the numbers on those cards quickly. Give the fastest those cards. In short, the game is to get cards as many as they can.

Remember, while teaching your little kids, try to make them comfortable and happy all the time. To draw their attention, give them some reward or compliment whenever they show some improvement, answering the multiplication quickly and precisely. It is better if you have some rewards, like chocolates, candies, ice cream, or anything that your children like. You can play with words, like "Well, mom got a sundae here. This will go to the kid who can answer 7 x 8. Come on, quick! Who can answer?" We are sure that they will be motivated and excited to answer your question.

Those are some tips to teach your little kids multiplication. We hope that it will be useful to develop their brain and improve their skills, especially on Mathematics.
